welcome

Thank you for picking up the MEAP edition of AI Agents for Offensive Security.

This book is written for practitioners. If you’ve spent time running tools, parsing output, and trying to decide what actually matters in an engagement, you’re the audience I had in mind while writing it.

To get the most out of this book, you should already be comfortable with the fundamentals of offensive security. That might mean experience with penetration testing, bug bounty hunting, red teaming, or security research. You don’t need extensive experience with AI, but you should be comfortable working with command-line tools, interpreting scan results, and thinking through attack paths.

The problem this book is trying to solve is not a lack of tools. Most of us already have more tools than we can realistically use in a single engagement. The real bottleneck is interpretation. Recon data piles up. Scan results become noise. Decisions get harder as the volume increases.

AI changes that, but not in the way it’s often presented.
