acknowledgments
Chrissy LeMaire:
I’d like to thank my wife, Lu, who let me write a second book after I promised I’d never write a book again. Writing a book is incredibly time consuming—my last one took three years, although thankfully, this one took only half as much time.
I’d also like to acknowledge my brother, Chad LeMaire, a cybersecurity executive who’d love to see his name in his sister’s book. Here you go, bro. ❤️
Brandon Abshire:
Of the few people I know who have written a book, most say they may never write another one. I concur, so I need to make this acknowledgment count.
My perfect acknowledgment recognizes the many people who’ve shaped my life and career, from my earliest days figuring out what I wanted to be when I grew up (I’m still deciding), throughout my journey as a DBA, and ultimately to being an IT manager (who still does DBA work). Rather than following a carefully crafted plan for success, I relied on hard work and well-timed leaps of faith.
To every boss who took a leap of faith with me, thank you. To my colleagues who make each day engaging and rewarding, your collaboration and willingness to share knowledge have helped me grow both personally and professionally. And a shout-out to the GenAI discussion group, where each week we explore the latest in AI while keeping it fun (and totally not overwhelming—usually).
