Part 1. Getting started with Apache Cordova

In these first two chapters, you’ll learn about hybrid mobile applications and how Apache Cordova fits into their development. We’ll look at what Cordova provides and what it doesn’t, and when a hybrid app isn’t always the best solution. You also will learn how to set up your environment for Cordova development with Android.

In chapter 1, you’ll learn how Cordova and PhoneGap relate and what Cordova does and does not provide. Chapter 2 explains how to install the Android SDK and other prerequisites, how to install Cordova, and how to create your first Cordova project.
