Thank you for purchasing the MEAP edition of Bug Bash!

Whether you’re someone with a lot of testing experience or just learning how to do it better and want to improve your testing processes, this book is for you. You just need a basic understanding of testing, why it matters, and a sprinkle of enthusiasm to drive quality-improving initiatives in your organization.

After organizing multiple bug bashes by gathering scattered information and, mostly, learning the hard way, I decided it’s time to add all that knowledge to this book and write something I wish I had years ago: a single source, A to Z, on how to organize a bug bash.

This book is divided into five parts based on the stage of your bug-bash organizing journey. Part 1 outlines what should be done 6-8 weeks prior to the bug bash; part 2 covers 4-6 weeks before; and part 3 outlines activities that take place 2 weeks prior to the day of the bug bash. Then, once you’re prepared and set yourself for success, part 4 will get to the day of a bug bash. After the bug bash takes place, in part 5, we will review what was discovered and learn from the experience.

I’m excited to share the MEAP with you and would love your feedback—what you liked, what didn't resonate, and what could be improved! Just as bug bashes help uncover insights we might otherwise miss, I hope you'll help me do the same by sharing your thoughts or questions in the liveBook Discussion forum.
