7 Creating site content
This chapter covers
- Collaborating with ChatGPT to create and edit content
- Getting ChatGPT to write in your own style
- Getting AI help to edit your writing
- Adding a hero image
- Prompting ChatGPT to build a page for an interest or hobby
- Examining and customizing the ChatGPT web page code
As I explain in Chapter 1, the “G” in GPT stands for “generative” and it means that you can use ChatGPT not only to have conversations, but also to create new things. As you’ve seen so far in this book, that generated content can be ideas for the page title and tagline, suggestions for typefaces that match your page topic, color scheme recommendations, links, navigation bars, and, of course, the HTML and CSS code to build the final web page.
However, your generative content ambitions don’t have to be restricted to small snippets of text and code. If you have an itch to put your true self on the web for all to see, one of the best ways to do that is to write about an interest or hobby that fascinates or engages you. If you’re not sure what to write or you’re having trouble getting going, this chapter shows you how to bring in ChatGPT as a collaborator to help you get started. You learn how to get AI-generated content ideas and writing suggestions, use AI for research, and even use ChatGPT to write in your voice.
