Until recently, there were just a few ways to publish a page on the web. The wow-that’s-a-lot-of-money way was to hire a professional web developer to build and deploy the page for you. The one-size-fits-all-way was to use one of the many online page templates or wizards to generate the page for you based on the info you type into a few boxes. And the time-consuming way was to buy a book (such as my book Web Design Playground, Second Edition; apologies for the plug!) and learn the intricacies of web page code.
But recently, an entirely new way to publish a page on the web has become available: Describing the page you want and then submitting that text description to a chatbot such as ChatGPT. The result? All the web page code that’s required to deploy the page: free, uniquely yours, and without having to learn any code. Call it the I can’t-believe-it’s-this-easy way.
