Hello there! Welcome to the MEAP for Claude at Work. If you’re in development, operations, DevOps, or any role in software engineering, this book will help you to become AI-first. You’ll learn about the whole Claude platform and how to use it effectively, for everything from routine tasks to software design, build and delivery. You only really understand the power of AI when you see what it can do for yourself, and I hope this book will get you excited about bringing Claude on board to work with you every day.

How do you feel about AI? A lot of engineers I work with are reluctant to get into it too deeply. They’re either skeptical about how well it can work, or they’re worried that it might work too well and come for their jobs. I felt a little bit of both before I started really working with Claude, but the more you use it the more you see it’s an amazing tool that really can deliver – but only with you directing it.

Claude is a powerful platform. It knows all the programming languages, platforms and tools that you do, so it’s a perfect coding partner.
