Thank you for purchasing the MEAP for From Go Code to Production: Shipping Go. The various elements of this book have been floating around my mind for several years now and it has been wonderful finally getting them on paper.

The goal of this book is to take you from learning a language to shipping a product with it. All examples in this book are written in Go but the concepts and patterns are easily translated to other languages. People will often think that there is too much overhead at the start of a project to build a delivery pipeline but in a few months they realize they don’t have the time to make one. Delivery pipelines can be simple and will evolve with you as you progress.

That is exactly how I structured this book. First we start simple and by the end we have a complex deployment process. This pattern I have seen in several companies that I’ve worked at and one that you may be familiar with too. The point of this book is to get you moving and seeing results as soon as possible. After establishing a basic structure you will begin to add extra tools and processes that will make your team even more successful.

I mentioned team several times already but this book does not mean you need a team to build software or that your project is going to be a large scale development effort. Instead you can find that building a pipleine is just as helpful for your personal projects. I’ve even used pipelines when writing this book!
