Writing a book is incredibly demanding, and I cannot express enough gratitude to my wife, Kimberly, for putting up with the long hours and time away from our two beautiful children. I never saw myself as the father type in my earlier years, but now I cannot imagine being anything else. Everything I do is for them. Kimberly and I work hard every day to set our family up for the future. Adding a book to the mix always feels a bit impractical, but together, we work to make it happen.
I want to thank my parents, who have been supportive of me every step of the way. They both taught me to always struggle past my limits and never take comfort for granted. My brother Dwight has always been there to hear me vent about work, and I hope I’ve been that same sounding board for him. My other brother Jon, even back in high school, taught me by example to be adaptable and pragmatic. Our family had a recent tragedy losing my teenage niece, Cadence, and I hope I live my life with a tenth of the resilience Jon has.
