This is the book I wish existed when I was first introduced to Machine Learning, because it is addressing the most important problem in Artificial Intelligence: how should humans & machines work together to solve tasks? Machine Learning is a very hot topic and most Machine Learning models are guided by human examples. But most Machine Learning texts and courses only focus on one part of the problem: the algorithms for training models. Real-world Machine Learning works best when you create your algorithm and data strategies together. However, while you can often get state-of-the-art results with good data and very simple algorithms, you rarely get state-of-the-art results with a cutting-edge algorithm built on bad data. So, if you need to go deep on one area of Machine Learning first, it should be the data side.
