Part 3 Don’t make these mistakes
In this part, we’ll look at mistakes to avoid so that you’ll be successful in your interviews. These include things like not doing your homework, thinking you can “wing it,” not practicing your answers, and not testing out your technology in advance of video interviews.
Another mistake is not being real—that is, not being your authentic self, or trying to give a memorized answer because you think it’s what the interviewer wants to hear.
We also discuss listening for the “heart” of the question and pausing if you need to think, so that you won’t ramble. We provide a list of things that candidates say or do during interviews because they think they sound good, but they actually don’t, and we talk about the things to find out and say to close your interview in an impactful way.
