Kubernetes is the most popular container orchestrator on the market today. All the major clouds provide some form of Kubernetes as a Service and they all support Windows deployments. Since Kubernetes 1.14 Windows support has been stable and we have seen more adoption over the last year than any previous but is still new to the Kubernetes ecosystem.

This book is designed to teach you everything you need to know to bring your Windows workloads to the cloud. It is split into two sections: Getting Started and Managing Windows in Kubernetes. They are designed to help you move your workloads from traditional deployment methods so you can modernize them.

We know that there is a lot to learn in the cloud native ecosystem and there are alot of other books to cover many of the topics. We’ve worked hard to focus on teaching you just enough and dive into the parts where Windows is similar but not quite the same as Linux. Throughout the book we’ve called out the differences and teach the properly way to achieve the same results so that you can be assured you are approaching it the best way for Windows and not just trying to make it work the same as Linux.
