welcome
Thank you for joining me on this journey and purchasing the MEAP for Lean Techniques for Software Engineering.
This book is written for engineers who care deeply about their craft. If you have experience writing code, if you’ve worked with CI pipelines, code reviews, pull requests, production incidents, or increasingly, AI-assisted development, then you’re exactly who I had in mind.
I began my career writing software, being close to the code, solving problems one function at a time. Over time, I moved into leading teams and building systems at a larger scale. My focus shifted from just writing features to understanding how we could consistently ship value to our customers faster, with less downtime and more clarity. That journey led me to Lean. Not as a management framework, but as a practical way to see how work flows, from idea to production, and where it quietly breaks down. I became increasingly interested in the implications of this at the process level: how teams collaborate, how pipelines behave, how decisions compound, and how we design systems that get better over time instead of more fragile.
Then AI arrived.
