This final chapter explores the emerging role of AI and large language models (LLMs) in FinOps. Generative AI opens up new possibilities: accelerating analysis, simplifying reporting, and even enabling semi-autonomous cost governance.
We build on core ideas introduced throughout this book: visibility (Chapter 3), cost allocation and analysis (Chapters 5–9), and automation (Chapter 8). The question now is not just how to do FinOps at scale, but how to make it faster, smarter, and more accessible. Can LLMs turn billing data into meaningful business insights? Can AI agents proactively flag waste, recommend savings, or even enforce policies in real time?
