Chapter 7. Empowering users with business intelligence
This chapter covers
In this chapter we’re going to focus on the business intelligence (BI) capabilities that are part of SharePoint Server Enterprise. Only one of the items listed above can be tied to SharePoint Foundation and Share-Point Server Standard, and that’s Office Web Access. This is available for SharePoint if you have a Microsoft Office 2010 volume license. The scenario that you’re going to implement, following a step-by-step process, is for a sales advertising company tracking sales. To begin we’ll discuss the scenario and how you’ll attain the solution utilizing SharePoint Server.
This section is broken up into three areas: situation, business priorities, and solution. The first section, situation, gives a detailed explanation of the request that you’ve received. The next, business priorities, extracts a list of requirements based on priority to accomplish your goals. The third section gives you an overview of the solution that we’ll spend the rest of the chapter walking through and building.
