With coding agents now part of our everyday development work, one of the most important skills you need is the ability to articulate your intent well enough that agents build what you want, not what the agent assumes you meant. This book focuses on that skill through in-depth coverage of Spec-Driven Development and Autonomous Iteration Workflows such as Ralph Loops, to equip you with foundational principles that are agnostic to any tooling.

This book is written for people who are actively coding, and equally for those who have programmed in the past but have since taken on other responsibilities. If you use an AI coding agent such as Claude Code, OpenCode, or Codex in any part of your work, and you are comfortable with Git and running commands in a terminal, you are all set to dive in and try out the exercises. No prior knowledge of Spec-Driven Development or Autonomous Iteration Workflows is assumed.
