welcome
Thanks for purchasing the MEAP of The Architecture of Reasoning. I hope the ideas in this book prove useful well before you reach the final page.
You don't need a background in artificial intelligence, cognitive science, or organizational psychology to get value from this book. You do need some experience of making decisions with other people. If you've ever left a meeting believing everyone was aligned, only to discover later that people had understood the decision differently, you'll recognize the territory.
I started writing this book after repeatedly seeing capable, intelligent teams struggle with problems that weren't really about capability. Assumptions remained hidden. People optimized for different outcomes without realizing it. Complex problems collapsed too quickly into simple answers. Sometimes everyone disagreed without understanding why. Sometimes everyone agreed and solved the wrong problem remarkably well.
