Appendix B. Calculator skills summary

This appendix provides a brief but thorough reference for your calculator’s most important features. It covers everything from arithmetic and graphing through statistics and programming, plus all the skills in between. Much of the material in this appendix is repeated in sidebars and tables throughout the book, so if you want to quickly learn about a specific calculator feature, you can also jump to the relevant section in this book’s chapters.

This appendix covers the following material:

  • To review how to perform arithmetic and basic math, use your calculator’s keypad, change modes, solve equations, and use variables and lists, flip to section B.1.
  • For graphing skills, including how to draw function, parametric, polar, and sequence graphs, go to section B.2. You can also find pointers on finding minima, maxima, zeroes, and intersections of functions, using the Table tool, and drawing.
  • For precalculus skills like using real, complex, and imaginary numbers, using trigonometric functions, and computing limits, refer to section B.3.
  • For calculus, statistics, probability, and finance tools, go to section B.4.
  • To review programming commands, read section B.5.
