Appendix A. Comparison with libraries and frameworks

If you’ve been working with React, Angular, or Vue, many of the ideas in this book will already be familiar. You still have components, state, data binding, and routes; what changes is how you put them together. The tables in this appendix connect the names you know with their Vanilla Web counterparts and point you to the chapters where we covered them. You can use them when moving a feature out of a framework or deciding how to build your next app.

A.1 Components and communication

Let’s start with components. Think about how you use one in your current framework: you pass it data, respond to its events, and sometimes provide content or customize its appearance. Table A.1 shows how those familiar operations translate to the Web Components we explored in Chapters 7–9.

A.2 Data binding and rendering

A.3 Routing and navigation
