ArgumentCaptor is a Mockito utility for capturing arguments passed to a service method, allowing tests to inspect data delivered by a Kafka consumer. section 10.3.2
Verifying consumer handling
A test producer sends a message to Kafka. When Customer360Service consumes it, ArgumentCaptor captures the parameters passed to the service logic. The test evaluates the captured data to verify that the consumer was triggered with the correct content. section 10.3.2
Figure 10.8 Integration testing of the consumer component in Customer360Service. The test sends a message to the Kafka cluster using a test producer. When the message is consumed, ArgumentCaptor is used to capture the parameters passed to the service logic. The test then evaluates the captured data to verify that the consumer received and handled the message correctly.
