LaunchPad is an internal developer platform that organizes and automates services, environments, and deployments. It places self-service capabilities between developers and underlying infrastructure, reducing operational friction while preserving standardization, compliance, and reliability. section 10.2.5 section 10.6.1
LaunchPad combines platform capabilities that support autonomous delivery:
- Standardized service templates provide preconfigured foundations for common microservices and reduce setup time. section 10.2.5
- Integrated CI/CD pipelines automate testing, security scans, builds, and deployments. section 10.2.5 section 10.6.1
- A self-service portal lets developers configure applications and environments without waiting for operations teams. section 10.6.1
- Documentation, policies, and role-based access support self-sufficiency, compliance, and controlled access. section 10.2.5 section 10.6.1
Deploying a microservice
A developer selects a service configuration in LaunchPad’s portal. The platform provisions the required environment, applies templates and policies, then runs the build, tests, security checks, and deployment pipeline so the developer can focus on product features. section 10.6.1
