Cloud Router is a Google Cloud networking resource that exchanges routes between a VPC network and a connected peer router through dynamic routing. It is associated with a VLAN attachment for Dedicated Interconnect and learns routes advertised by the on-premises router, adding them as custom dynamic routes in the VPC. section 10.1.2
In a Dedicated Interconnect deployment, Cloud Router:
- Creates a routing session for the VLAN attachment and its corresponding on-premises peer router. section 10.1.2
- Receives routes advertised by the on-premises router and installs them as custom dynamic routes in the VPC network. section 10.1.2
- Advertises routes for Google Cloud resources back to the on-premises peer router. section 10.1.2
Dedicated Interconnect topology
Provision a Dedicated Interconnect connection between a VPC network and an on-premises router in a shared colocation facility, then associate the VLAN attachment with Cloud Router to exchange routes. section 10.1.2
