The JAX ecosystem is a modular collection of libraries, modules, and packages built on JAX or designed to interoperate with it. Instead of adopting one tightly integrated framework, you can assemble the pieces that fit a project. section 1.1.3 section 12.0
A JAX-based solution can combine components for:
- neural-network layers, architectures, optimizers, and tokenizers section 1.1.3
- data loading, reinforcement learning, Monte Carlo Tree Search, and meta-learning optimizers section 1.1.3
- machine learning, optimization, physics, chemistry, protein folding, and scientific simulation section 12.0
Composable project design
Choose a high-level neural-network library, pair it with a separate optimizer module, customize learning rates by layer, and reuse a preferred data loader or reinforcement-learning library. This LEGO-like approach preserves freedom to replace individual pieces. section 1.1.3
The ecosystem is broad and changes quickly, so treat catalogs as entry points and consult each module’s documentation before building around it. section 12.0
