A wasmCloud lattice is a distributed network where multiple wasmCloud hosts communicate and coordinate Wasm components through NATS. It supports components running on one host or distributed across hosts, while wadm monitors deployments and manages runtime links. section 6.1
A lattice combines several operational roles:
- Hosts embed Wasmtime to execute Wasm components and provide capabilities such as HTTP serving. section 6.1
- NATS provides the messaging layer for communication between distributed components. section 6.1
- wadm monitors the lattice and manages deployment state, links, and component placement. section 6.1
Hello World across the lattice
A wadm manifest deploys an HTTP component and an HTTP-server capability, then links the server to the component through the wasi:http incoming-handler interface. Run wash up -d, wash build, wash app deploy ./wadm.yaml, and curl http://127.0.0.1:8000 to receive “Hello from Rust!”. section 6.1
