A question selector chooses a test’s questions from an available pool. In a practice-test application, it separates the choice of questions from storing questions, presenting them, and grading completed tests. section 3.6 section 3.7.1
For a HAM radio license practice test, the selector’s job is to randomly choose questions from a predetermined pool to form a 35-question test. The pool holds question text, multiple-choice options, and correct answers; the interface presents the chosen set, while grading calculates the final score. section 3.6
Treat the selector as one part of a small assessment system:
- Question Pool Database stores potential questions and their answers. section 3.6
- Question Selector randomly selects questions from that pool. section 3.6
- User Interface lets a learner take the test and see results. section 3.6
- Grading Component scores the completed test. section 3.6
Practice-test assembly
Start with a predetermined HAM radio question pool. Select 35 questions at random, show each question’s possible answers, then provide a score percentage after the test. This division clarifies where selection ends and presentation or grading begins. section 3.6
The component label is useful for design discussion, but it is not yet a selection algorithm. Decide the implementation details deliberately when engineers need more than a high-level system overview. section 3.7.1
