WPForms is a WordPress plugin for contact forms when a basic form is not enough. It is suited to gathering visitor information while adding features such as protection against unwanted or fake submissions. section 5.1 section 9.6.1
Use WPForms when a form needs more than simple visitor contact:
- Collect email addresses or other information supplied by visitors. section 9.6.1
- Add anti-spam protection, including CAPTCHA challenges that require a puzzle or math problem before submission. section 9.6.1
- Choose it over Jetpack’s Contact Form module when extra form features are needed. section 5.1
Example: protecting a sign-up form
A site can use a form to collect visitor email addresses, then require a CAPTCHA puzzle or math answer before accepting the submission. This helps automate the blocking of bad or fake form entries. section 9.6.1
