1.1      Why should I read this book?

More and more companies are embracing public cloud computing (referred in this book as “cloud”) as a mean to realize their business potentials. In a typical scenario, cloud adoption does not happen over night. It is not like installing a new software. Cloud is a cultural shift that leads to transformations in all the area of the company, from the most obvious – i.e. engineering – to the less – i.e. marketing and finance.

Over time, the cloud shift moves through different phases as you can see in Figure 1.1. It becomes a cloud journey.
