Part 4. User experience design: putting it all together
This final part of the book will provide a review of the principles and actionable next steps for applying what you’ve learned to your practice.
Chapter 9 presents a case study that will allow you to apply components of each of the principles we’ve covered. You’ll see an example of how to think through the use of psychology from the conception of an idea, through its implementation. You’ll also understand that these principles allow flexibility in how they’re used. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to any of the principles. You can pick and choose how to apply them, in the way that best suits your product and its users.
Chapter 10 provides the information you need to continue moving forward with what you’ve learned. You’ll see how you might account for psychological principles over all phases of a design project. I’ll give you insight into which principles might be best for your product, and you’ll learn some common user experience research methods you should use to help inform your design. Finally, I’ll provide methods to measure the impact of incorporating principles of psychology into the design of your product.
