Part 1. Hello, Mesos

What is Apache Mesos? How does Mesos compare to traditional datacenter architecture? How are containers different from virtual machines? Why might you use Mesos? These are questions that I begin to address in part 1. You’ll learn about the Apache Mesos project and its use of containers by comparing and contrasting these relatively new technologies to that of a traditional datacenter. You’ll also see a practical example of Mesos in action in the context of running an Apache Spark data-processing job on the cluster.
