The Azure Quantum Development Kit is a Visual Studio Code extension for creating and executing Q# programs. It supports a compact workflow in which Q# allocates qubits, applies gates, and releases them safely. section 2.1.3
A Q# development workflow can include:
- Creating a minimal .qs file and marking an entry-point operation. section 2.1.3
- Allocating qubits with use, applying intrinsic gates such as Ry, and supplying rotation angles in radians. section 2.1.3
- Resetting qubits to |0⟩ before release, including when measurement and entanglement could affect the remaining computation. section 2.1.3
Preparing a single-qubit state
A Q# operation allocates q, computes theta from coefficients alpha = 0.6 and beta = 0.8 using ArcTan2, applies Ry(theta, q), and finishes with Reset(q). The extension reports a completed Q# simulation. section 2.1.3
