A data source is a repository, system, or stream from which information is retrieved for analysis or processing. In product planning, useful sources reveal different parts of the decision: actual behavior, stated needs, market signals, and stakeholder feedback. section 9.1.1
Product-planning agents may draw on:
- Sales calls and user interviews for expressed needs. section 9.1.1
- Product usage data for actual usage behavior. section 9.1.1
- Product reviews, competitive-intelligence databases, and the wider web for market research. section 9.1.1
Sources differ in semantics, structure, access, and queryability. Unstructured calls and emails may require retrieval-augmented generation, while structured usage data may require Text2SQL; local files, databases, and cloud repositories need different connectors. section 9.1.1
