Hume is a Python quantum-computing simulator built for learning, flexibility, and efficiency. Its circuit syntax closely matches Qiskit, helping developers move from simulation toward quantum backends. section 2.4 section 12.2.2
Hume supports a practical quantum-development workflow:
- Construct circuits with QuantumRegister and QuantumCircuit, then run them using Hume’s simulator. section 12.2.2
- Use quantum-circuit operations including controlled transformations, QFT, inverse QFT, and measurement. section 12.2.2
- Switch between Hume and Qiskit through configuration without rewriting circuit code. section 12.2.2
- Convert Hume circuits to Qiskit circuits for IBM simulators or real quantum hardware. section 2.4 section 12.2.3
A small Hume circuit
Create a three-qubit register, apply Hadamard gates to two qubits, use a multi-controlled X operation on the third, and inspect the resulting state with qc.run(). section 12.2.2
