Test fixture

As explained in React Quickly, Second Edition

A test fixture is prepared data, state, resources, or setup and cleanup logic that establishes controlled conditions for one or more tests.

Fixture data is fixed sample content used to give an application a starting state. In a task manager, it supplies default tasks when browser storage has no saved list. section 13.2.3 section 13.2.4

Listing 13.6 src/task/fixture.js in the simple task list
const initialState = [
 { id: 1, title: "Make task manager" },
 { id: 2, title: "Now add some more tasks" },
];
export default initialState;

The fixture exports two task objects as the initial task data. section 13.2.4

How React Quickly, Second Edition covers it

How deep it goes
Shows a small default-data array and its fallback role, without demonstrating test setup or cleanup.
Examples
Uses two task records titled “Make task manager” and “Now add some more tasks.”
What you can do after
Build it from scratch by exporting a default task array for use as startup data.
How it connects
Connects fixed sample data with application state initialization and browser local storage.
