Python is the programming language used to turn local AI experiments into an application. Instead of only chatting with a model through terminal commands, you can write code that calls a model and presents its responses in a web interface. section 1.0 section 5.0
A practical path starts small and builds toward the chatbot:
- Set up Python and VS Code, then create a project folder and run a first script. section 5.0
- Learn variables, functions, files, and packages as they become useful; basic familiarity helps, but mastery is not required before starting. section 5.0
- Use Python with Ollama and Streamlit to build a chatbot, adding a web interface, conversation history, and streaming responses. section 1.0 section 18.1
VS Code provides syntax highlighting, error detection, and an integrated terminal for writing and running code in one place. Virtual environments keep a project’s dependencies isolated. Together, these tools make it easier to create another Python project and install what it needs. section 5.0 section 18.2.1 section 18.1
